Texas Adventures – Reflections & Thank you! – February, 2016

Reflections …

As I sit here this morning and reflect on my experiences in Texas I am blown away …

First of all I would like to express a HUGE THANK YOU to Gord, Kayley and the staff at Artcobell !!

We just spent four incredible days in Texas! 🐴

We received such a warm welcome and were treated with such excellence. 🌇 I felt like I was … home!

I met incredible people who are very dedicated and passionate about what they do.  It was truly a “5 STAR” experience! 🌠

It was an extraordinary learning experience for me as a principal opening a brand-new school. The furniture discussions & design thinking experiences were outstanding! However, bigger than that was the sense of team and collaboration so clearly evident in your organization.  WOW!! At Artcobell … You are truly living and leading by example the acronym of TEAM –Together Everyone Achieves More.  👏

I was excited to walk through the factory and see how the furniture that’s created for kids in schools is carefully and methodically made. It was fascinating to sit it with the designers of the furniture and listen to their creative journey in creating quality furniture for our students. 🙌

The leadership teams at Artcobell modelled the epitome of servant leadership, respect and integrity. In my opinion … when you have those traits so clearly evident in your TEAM 👥 … you have the potential to change the world 🌎 … one individual at a time.

As an educational leader I feel so blessed to have met each one of you. The culture of warmth and collaboration built on the foundation of respect and trust that I experienced while with you in Texas is exactly the open and collaborative learning culture I want to co-create with our Learning Teams at Prescott Learning Centre.   👍

John Maxwell said,  “People don’t want to know how much you know until they know how much you care.”

However, how amazing is it … when your organization has both … a deep level of knowledge and understanding embedded in a deep level of care. 💝 Steven Covey would call that … “Win Win”.
I am so excited to see your organization advance and progress in the 21st Century. I speak a blessing on your continued success!  Thank you for the opportunity to learn from you! You are incredible people!
Eric, Quinn, Hart, Sharad, Jon, Ryan, Kayley & Gord –
… THANK YOU so much!!!!  I thoroughly enjoyed every minute! 🌈
Your friend and educator from Alberta,
Karen 😎

It was so exciting to be standing on the second floor … WOW! As I looked out over the horizon … I was thinking about the many children, teenagers & staff who will soon call this place “their school”.
