About Me

I began teaching in Newfoundland in 1985 … and yes … I am dating myself.  HA!

Here’s a glimpse of my BIO …

I began teaching as an Early Years’ teacher. In 1997, I relocated to Yellowknife, North West Territories gaining experience as a Middle Years’ teacher and administrator.

Since the beginning of my career, I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to Grade 9 and have  18 years of experience in Educational Leadership in the roles of Principal, Assistant Principal and District Math Coordinator.

From an educational perspective, I have completed a Master of Education from the University of Alberta with a major in Curriculum and three Masters’ level courses in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University.  In addition, I have completed a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education and a three year Christian Education/Theology Diploma.

In 2006, I joined Parkland School Division as Assistant Principal at Blueberry School.  In addition, I served as Principal of Muir Lake School for four years. It’s exciting to be an educational leader in Parkland School Division … where the world opens up

I am excited to be the Principal at Prescott Learning Centre. I am a life-long learner committed to promoting the highest standards of educational excellence by fostering collaboration, innovation, respect and trust.

Karen Stride-Goudie, B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed.
